Garber Family Portraits-Cleveland

Last weekend while at our satellite office near Cleveland, we did our family pictures. Very happy to have them done early this year so my holiday cards this year won't be New Year's cards like last year!

So how do photographers do their own portraits? The timer on the camera of course! You should see us running back and forth to the camera and then posing ourselves in under 8 seconds. It's sort of the Nascar pit stop approach, but it gets the job done.

Mark's son, Joshua, is getting married to Kristen next March so we did some photos of them together while we were out in the field. Mark's daughter, Lindsay, and her boyfriend Bob also got some pics in too. The whole session took about 15 minutes before we were off to dinner!

Lauren & Ryan at Cox Arboretum

Last week we photographed Lauren and Ryan's engagement session at scenic Cox Arboretum. Despite the heat and humidity we had a great time covering just about ever area of the park. Lauren and Ryan are a super sweet couple who met in grad school. Ryan is still finishing up med school so wedding planning has been a little tricky for them, but we know that everything will work itself through before their winter wedding this December! Congrats to the happy couple!

Holly & Rockford's Indianapolis Wedding Chic

Where to start with Holly & Rockford's wedding? Such a sweet couple and such wonderful friends and family to share such a special day! Holly is a fellow photographer and has seen her fair share of weddings. She really made her own event unique with lots of attention to detail and personalized touches.

Saturday was almost 100 degrees, but we still made it to many of Indianapolis' famous landmarks. We had a great time photographing despite the heat. With so many great places to photograph, we think Indianapolis photographers have it easy! Combine the unique locations with Holly & Rockford's classic look and we were like kids in a candy store.

Holly really impressed us with all the beautiful details like signing all the programs, monogrammed ribbon on the bouquets, handmade chocolate orchids on all the plates, a guest book made from all the guests recipes (you can see it on Blurb and even order one for yourself), and the handmade flip book notepad wedding favors. I think I'll have to make a separate blog post just of all her details.

Feel free to leave messages for Holly & Rockford below in comments. You can also find them on Facebook. Feel free to tag yourself in images! You can also enjoy their 'After Hours' Session we did the night of their rehearsal dinner in the post below. Enjoy Jamaica!

If you want Holly's help with designing invitations or other graphic elements with your own event. You can email her at heknottsstudios@gmail.com.

After Hours Session with Holly & Rockford

Holly & Rockford indulged us with a session that we started about about 11pm after their rehearsal dinner wrapped up. I had wanted to play with a session done at night with dressier clothing. While we try and capture the personalities of our clients and will photograph wherever is special to them, it's fun for us to play someplace other than a park.

A wonderful friend of ours, Indra Leonardi, who is an insanely good photographer in Indonesia does all of his engagement sessions with the couples dressed in either formal attire or 'cocktail' attire. This creates a more sophisticated, mysterious and chic feeling. For any of our couples who would like to try something more polished give us a call. We would be happy to create something unique for you.

Michelle & Josh at The Manor House

Michelle and Josh had a beautiful wedding at the scenic Manor House on August 7th. They had the right idea and had the ceremony in the morning to beat the summer heat. It also worked out great because we got to photograph in the beautiful morning light.

Michelle and Josh are a super sweet couple and their family (particularly their brothers) had us laughing all day. You would never know that the reception was in the early afternoon because the wedding party and family had the dance floor full...with some very creative moves I might add.

We wish all the best for Michelle and Josh and know they enjoyed their honeymoon in San Francisco...one of our favorite cities! Lots of fun places to see and great places to eat! Feel free to leave well wishes for the newlyweds below in comments.
